Commissioned (and sent)

I had a very moving and meaningful day today as I was officially commissioned to serve as a missionary with World Gospel Mission in our Southwest Ministries Field, based in Peoria, Arizona. It’s been an incredible journey and God has been leading step by step. My co-workers and the leaders at WGM HQ, as well as the incredible people in my local church, have been so encouraging and affirming. I won’t be leaving for a while, but over the next few months, I’ll be moving into the preparation and partnership development stages! Your prayers are very much appreciated – and needed.

A Brief Background to the Missionary Call to the Southwest

About Steve Hughes

Steve is an ordinary old(ish) guy with an extraordinary passion for God! He toured internationally for six years as a singer/songwriter, pastored churches in Switzerland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the US, and most recently served as a regional mobilizer with World Gospel Mission in Marion, Indiana. In the latter part of 2023 he will be moving to Arizona where he will be the Program Coordinator for "Discovery Year", WGM's soon to be launched discipleship/missionary residency program. He will also be actively involved in various ministries among Native Americans on the surrounding reservations. What you'll find on these pages is neither the fruit of some colossal intellect nor the senseless ramblings of a madman. You will find, however, nothing more than a random assortment of occasional thoughts.
